QUITE TRAGIC: Defunding Sanctuary Cities Will Pay for the Wall

It's the little things that often make life worthwhile.

Finding a $20 bill on the sidewalk. That extra hour of sleep when Daylight Savings Time turns over. Oh, and watching Hillary Clinton lose an election in real-time.

And then there's all of that "build the wall" business.

Democrats -- using their traditional, Barney Frank-level of hypocritical lying -- have suddenly claimed they're worried about the debt. That's after eight years of spending that made Caligula look like Scrooge.

Their faux concern: paying a few billion dollars for a security wall. Never mind that building the wall would save Americans countless hundreds of billions on handouts to illegals. That's called a "return on investment", a concept as foreign to the Democrat Party as, say, learning from history.

Now for the ironical part:

Some Senate members cannot figure out how to pay for the border wall that the administration wants. And unless new funding is found they are threatening to stop the wall construction.

But a solution has apparently been found. Sanctuary cities are refusing to obey Federal immigration law. So they will lose billions in Federal assistance... "The 12 cities with the most illegal immigrants and the federal funding received last fiscal year are: New York ($7.6 billion), Chicago ($5.3 billion), Philadelphia ($590 million), San Francisco ($509 million), Los Angeles ($502 million), Seattle ($284 million), Providence ($235 million), Denver ($227 million), Austin ($207 million), Newark ($207 million), Portland ($174 million), and Minneapolis ($118 million)."

There is all the funding you need to pay for the wall costs in its entirety.

Sanctuary cities receive over $27 billion each year from the federal government, giving President Donald Trump significant leverage over cities such as New York and San Francisco to enforce immigration law, according to a new report. identified 106 sanctuary cities in the United States in their oversight report, released Friday. In all, cities that ignore federal law by harboring illegal immigrants are receiving $27.741 billion in grants and direct payments in fiscal year 2016.

If Democrats are so in favor of sanctuary cities, perhaps they can open up their own homes to a family of illegal aliens. You know, because they're for the little people.
